Updated May 24 2004

Norway is a country with great differences between the seasons of the year. It is therefore only natural to divide the bus pictures into the fours seasons. Winter driving has already been covered, now comes a new collection of springtime pictures, March, April and May. The pictures will normally be of buses from bus company Sporveisbussene, Oslo (depot Alnabru) or Schøyens Bilcentraler (division of Concordia), depot Moss.
Citaro at Refnes, Moss - early spring, early March 2004, beautiful weather,
- and this is the view to the right of the bus, facing the Oslo fjord. Not the same bus, though, this is a Mercedes-Benz O405 Nü
Schøyen/Concordia's Mercedes Integro #214 on the way back to the depot in Moss after a sunny afternoon trip from the city of Halden to the city of Fredrikstad early April 2004. Moss, Fredrikstad and Halden are all cities of Østfold, a county SouthEast of Oslo.

MAN NL263 #624 at Kjelsås on new line 54 between Kjelsås and Aker Brygge on May 15 2004. Kjelsås is 200 meters above sea level, 10 km from Oslo downtown.

- and here at waterfront destination Aker Brygge  in downtown Oslo with an old Scania CN113 on line 21 between Aker Brygge and Helsfyr. Aker Brygge is the result of an old ship yard that has been refurbished into a large shopping mall with several waterfront luxury condominiums at the top floors. Several restaurants, bars, a cinema theatre and hundred of offices can be found at Aker Brygge.

This is Nydalen - end of line 37 from Helsfyr. Articulated buses of type MAN NG312/NG313 depart every 5-10 minutes. Here one of them (MAN NG312 #648) crosses the idyllic bridge over Akerselven with its flood lighted waterfalls.

Driving at the countryside is a nice change. Picture taken April 28 whan I took this Mercedes-Benz Integro O550 (#214) on a spin from the depot in Moss to Sarpsborg (35 kms furher south) via Råde before it started its regular schedule from Sarpsborg Busterminal returning back to Moss, crowded with school students. In the background, one of Hansens Bilruter's Scanias on its way from its depot in-the-middle-of-nowhere Slangsvold.

Above: A springtime collection of articulated busses ready for action on the morning of May 1st 2004. This is a public holiday in Norway as in many other countries, so the majority of the buses start later than a normal Saturday. Picture taken at Sporveisbussene's main depot Alnabru. I was a driver on line 37 . It was a busy day with several detours because of various arrangements downtown, and "inexperienced" passengers with limited knowledge about fares, tickets and routes, Delays were inevitable.
May 1st 2004, MAN NG313 #726 regulating at destination Nydalen at line 37. Notice flags because of May 1st being an official "flag day". For the first time this year I noticed the A/C-unit automatically switching on in order to cool down the bus interior. The A/C unit is contained inside the "hump" on the roof at the rear section of the bus.
3 Mercedes-Benz from Schøyen/Concordia at bus terminal in Halden, May 4 2004. The bus in the middle is "my" bus, belonging to the depot in Moss and on its way to the city of Fredrikstad coming from the city of Sarpsborg. The two other buses belong to the depot in Halden. Sun is breaking thorugh the clouds after several hours of heavy rain.
The bus company Norgesbuss has leased this Mercedes O405 to Schøyen Concordia. Here on an afternoon ride to idyllic Larkollen 15 kms from Moss. After days of beautiful and warm weather with temperatures up to 25 degrees C, the bus and I were surprised by a heavy local thunderstorm with hail and extreme heavy downpour on this trip. Here we are back to more calm weather at Larkollen waterfront. Date was May 11 2004.
May 22th 2004, line 37 represented by MAN NG313 #731 approaching end destination Nydalen some 4 miles from Oslo downtown.
